Each facilitator with The Alternative Board® (TAB) is an experienced business person who has successfully completed an extensive TAB facilitator training program and participates in ongoing training sessions. Most facilitators run or have run their own businesses giving them a unique perspective to share with the board members.
The TAB facilitator guides the group discussions without dominating the meetings and encourages all members to express their views while keeping the discussion on track. They also ensure problem solving ideas are generated and the meeting does not become a gripe session.
Steve has dedicated his career as a human resource professional and entrepreneur where for nearly twenty years he has served in various leadership roles including founder, president and CEO of several business start-ups and growing companies. Having been a business owner and partner himself of several organizations he is keenly aware of what it takes to build an organization with a sustainable competitive advantage. Throughout his career he has delivered specialized services as a human resources and business professional where he has coached executives and high level senior managers to develop their managerial and leadership skills and facilitated programs for organizational continuous improvement.
Steve’s success as an executive in both Fortune 500 firms and privately held enterprises has highlighted his professional career. He brings with him a diverse background with specialized knowledge and expertise in areas of human resources, organizational development, strategic planning, business start-up, real estate and executive center development and management.
Prior to co-founding Responsibility Centered Leadership, his career included corporate positions working with Dollar General Corporation and Hollywood Entertainment where he managed a wide variety of human resources activities including employee relations, recruiting, training, executive succession planning, workers compensation and legal compliance while directly managing other human resources professionals located across a 30 state area. During his career he has been responsible for directing the selection, hiring and personal and professional development of thousands of employees.
Steve is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelors degree in Corporate & Organizational Communication and a Masters degree in Organizational Communications with an emphasis in Employee Communications. He is a highly skilled certified Birkman Consultant who also holds certifications in Living in the Now®, Responsibility Centered Management, DISC, PIAV, Tri-Metrix and MBTI.
